Mumbai. ‘Makar Sankranti’, also known as ‘Kite festival’ dedicated to Sun God, signifies that we should turn away from the darkness of delusion and enjoy a new life with bright light. It is one of the few chosen Indian Hindu festivals which has a fixed date. The harvest festival marks the arrival of spring season.

On this auspicious occasion social organization Gandhi Vichar Manch in association with Agrabandhu Seva Samiti’s (regd.), Mumbai once again with their joint effort came forward to help the poor, the blind, the handicapped and the needy people distributed food grains, blankets, bed sheets at a function held at Sai Baba Mandir, Near Malad Shopping Center, Malad (West), Mumbai and give these deprived people a light of happiness in their lives.

The function was successfully concluded in presence of Gandhi Vichar Manch’s National President Manmohan Gupta, Program President Laxminarayan Agarwal a.k.a Mannu Seth (President of Agrabandhu Seva Samiti), Program host Kanbihari Agarwal, Brijmohan Agarwal, Ramprakash Mittle, Amrishchandra Agrawal, Babulal Agarwal, Sai Darshan Mandir Trust trustee Narendra Khaitan, Kanhaiyalal Yadav,Smt. Snehlata Manmohan Gupta, Udesh Agarwal, J.P. Singh, Gopal Das, Shobha Brijmohan Agarwal, media personnel, friends, well-wishers who graced the occasion to make it a grand fare.Trustee Kishanchand Gupta lit the traditional lamp to mark the beginning of the ceremony. Both the associations’ President expressed their views and extended their warm wishes to all those present.

The success of the event goes to all the humble efforts Sumithi Shinde, President of Suman Handicapped Association, J.P. Singh, Mumbai district President of Gandhi Vichar Manch and Agrabandhu Seva Samiti members. Jai Prakash Pandey and Anil R. Agarwal were the programme co-ordinators.
