बॉलीवुड के दिवंगत अभिनेता सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के दोस्त सुरजीत राठौड़ फ़िल्म इंडस्ट्री में दस साल से बतौर निर्माता काम कर रहे हैं। आपको बता दें कि सुरजीत सिंह राठौड़ वही शख्स हैँ जो लगातार सुशांत सिंह राजपूत को इंसाफ़ दिलवाने के लिए उनके फ़ैन्स का सहयोग कर रहे थे। सूरजीत सिंह राठौड़ के साथ केडिया ग्रूप के बाद अब एक बड़ा ग्रूप जुड़ गया है।

सुरजीत सिंह राठौड़ ने बताया कि मार्च महीने में हम एक साथ 5 गाने रिलीज करेंगे जिसका निर्माण रामकिशोर जाठोलीया करेंगे जो आरके इंफ्राटेक कम्पनी के मालिक है। हमारे साथ इंडस्ट्री के कई अन्य कलाकार भी काम करेंगे। इन वीडियो सांग्स की विशेषता यह होगी कि इन्हें दुबई की शानदार लोकेशन्स में भव्य ढंग से शूट किया जायेगा, जिनका निर्देशन हरीश क़ोटीयन करेंगे। इन गानों के सह निर्माता गायनचंद देवपती हैं।

One of the most iconic sports of all times, Arm Wrestling is often referred to as India’s favourite pastime! The sport now has a competitive avatar that has successfully drawn people across all ages and the followers including genders, thanks to this competition. In a unique bid in athletics to let your forearms do the talking, Pro-Panja is emulating the league format for arm-wrestling!

“Panja is an internationally acclaimed sport, seeped in Indianness! That’s what the Pro-Panja League stands for,” expressed actors Parvin Dabas and Preeti Jhangiani, the brains behind Pro-Panja League, at a press conference held at Sofitel, BKC. Besides Parvin Dabas and Preeti Jhangiani, the press conference witnessed Pran Pratim Chaliha (Treasurer of Indian Arm Wrestling Federation), Hashim Reza Zaveth (President of Indian Arm Wrestling Federation), Mustafa Ali (Head Referee of Indian Arm Wretling Federation) among other dignitaries and participants of the league. An interesting facet of the evening was that members of the media fraternity also participated in friendly panja matches!

The maiden venture, with ardent followers including 5,000 male and 2,000 female arm wrestlers in the amateur levels saw 400 athletes from 18 states, with Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju and Padma Shri Olympic Boxer Vijender Singh with an undefeated streak, not just making their presence felt at the maiden Pro-Panja League, but also participating in an exhibition match where, instead of shaking hands, they wrestled arms. This was seen to be motivating for the youth, who then flocked in numbers towards the amateur arm wrestling tables set up for the youth to try their hands!

Talking about the origins of the sport in India, Parvin Dabas avered, “Eugene Sandow, the father of bodybuilding visited Mumbai in 1904. This was at the invitation of Sir Dhunjibhoy Bomanji, a shipping magnate and a popular socialite! Sandow’s visit created a great impact and before we knew it, the homegrown Panja became a household thing!”

“The league has spawned an emerging hub of contenders from Punjab, MP, Haryana, Mizoram, Manipur and Kerala! Some of these states also boast gyms in which women often sculpt their ‘dominant hands’ by arm-wrestling!,” revealed Parvin, an avid MMA fan who is also the man behind MMA India Show, Sports India Show among portals.

Preeti Jhangiani believes that these numbers are all set to grow. “India’s most promising athletes are from Manipur and Mizoram! We are exploring more and more states with the hope to motivate more people to take up this sport professionally!

“Anyone can play arm wrestling. But it takes hours at the gym perfecting arm wrestling techniques, physical strength, skill, endurance and talent to compete professionally at a higher level. “We are glad we are pioneering a sport in India where arm wrestling has moved from college canteen tables to the professionally designed Arm Wrestling tables!” elaborated Parvin Dabas who is excited that this year witnessed a record number of entries despite the pandemic.

This year will also see the best compete for the title of No. 1 Arm Wrestler in the country. Interestingly, the technique, the angle of the tug, the timing of a surge and the precise position of each finger decides the winner in pro-Panja League that proves that brain is more powerful than brawn!

भारत ने मुझे नई कहानियां दी और कनाडा ने मुझे व्यक्त करने की आजादी: फिल्म निर्माता दीपा मेहता

9 फरवरी 2021, कोलकाता :  कोलकाता की सुप्रसिद्ध सामाजिक संस्था ‘प्रभा खेतान फाउंडेशन’ द्वारा आयोजित और श्री सीमेंट द्वारा प्रस्तुत ‘एक मुलाकात विशेष’ के ऑनलाइन सत्र को वर्चुअली संबोधित करते हुए फिल्म निर्माता दीपा मेहता ने कहा, मेरे जीवन में भारतीय सिनेमा के प्रति मेरा लगाव हमेशा से काफी ज्यादा रहा है। जब मैं एक एनआरआई नागरिक बन गयी, तब मै भारतीय सिनेमा में काफी ग्राउंडेड भी हो गयी थी। क्योंकि मुझे लगता है कि भारत मुझे अगर नई कहानियां देता है, तो कनाडा मुझे उन्हें व्यक्त करने की आजादी प्रदान करता है।

दिल्ली की अहसास वुमन की सदस्य अर्चना डालमिया के एक सवाल के जवाब में कि, ‘एक एनआरआई के रूप में आप भारतीयता पर अपने फिल्म निर्माण को कैसे ढाल रही हैं?’ का वह जवाब दे देते हुए दीपा मेहता ने कहा, मैं एक अनिच्छुक कनाडाई नागरिक बन चुकी थी, तब लंबे समय तक मुझे भारत से बाहर रहना पड़ा था। इस दौरान भारत को मैने काफी मिस किया। घर को वास्तव में सुरक्षा के लिए परिभाषित किया जाता है और अगर मैं भारत में खुद को सुरक्षित महसूस नहीं करती तो यह मेरा घर नहीं कहला सकता है। मैं एक अलग तरह की एनआरआई हूं।

‘एक मुलाकात विशेष’ कार्यक्रम के इस ऑनलाइन सत्र की शुरूआत अहमदाबाद अहसास की महिला शाखा की तरफ से प्रियांशी पटेल ने किया।

दीपा मेहता, जो अपनी फिल्म ‘फायर’ के लिए काफी विवादों के घेरे में आयी थी, इसके लिए उन्हें काफी नाराजगी का सामना करना पड़ा था। इसके बाद भारत में उन्हें अपनी अगली आनेवाली फिल्म ‘वाटर’ के प्रोडक्शन को बंद करना पड़ा था।

दीपा मेहता का काम निडर और उत्तेजक भरा है, जो रूढ़िवादी विचारधारा को हमेशा चुनौती देता है। उन्होंने हाल ही में नेटफ्लिक्स ओरिजिनल सीरीज़ और लीला के लिए पायलट का दूसरा एपिसोड शूट किया। वह इस शो की रचनात्मक कार्यकारी निर्माता भी हैं। उन्होंने एप्पल टीवी के लिए लिटिल अमेरिका के पायलट एपिसोड-‘द मैनेजर’ का भी निर्देशन किया। दीपा की फिल्म ‘मिडनाइट्स चिल्ड्रन’ को श्रीलंका में शूट किया गया था। उनकी नवीनतम फीचर फिल्म ‘फन्नी बॉय’, श्याम सेल्वादुरई द्वारा लिखित पुरस्कार विजेता उपन्यास पर आधारित है, जिसे द्वीप राष्ट्र में भी शूट किया जा रहा है।

दीपा ने कहा, अब श्रीलंका के लिए मेरा प्यार बढ़ने लगा, क्योंकि भारत में उसे पसंद नहीं किया जा रहा था जो मैं करना चाहती थी।

जीवन में सिनेमा के प्रति उनके लगाव की शुरुआत कैसे हुई? इस सवाल के जवाब में दीपा ने कहा, सिनेमा के लिए मेरा जुनून तब शुरू हुआ जब मैं छह साल की थी। मेरे पिता के पास पंजाब और अमृतसर में एक सिनेमा हॉल और फिल्म प्रोडक्शन कंपनी थी। स्कूल के बाद हमें पिताजी के पास जाना पड़ता था। वहां जाने के बाद उनका इंतजार करने के लिए उन्हें कई बार मूवी थियेटर में घंटों इंतजार करना पड़ता था। इस दौरान मैंने फिल्म ममता को लगभग अस्सी बार छोटे-छोटे हिस्सों में देखा, जिसके बाद मुझे उससे प्यार हो गया। मैंने फिर अपने पिता से पूछा- यह कैसे होता है? इसपर वह मुझे निर्माण कक्ष में ले गये और मुझे दिखाया कि फिल्म कैसे बनती है, फिर हम गलियारे से नीचे उतरे। मेरे पिता ने मुझे वह स्क्रीन महसूस कराया जो कपड़े का एक टुकड़ा था, उस समय मुझे महसूस हुआ कि पूरी बात जादुई है। ऐसा कुछ जिसे मैं महसूस कर सकती थी, इसके वर्णों को स्पर्श कर सकती थी। मुझमें ऐसी भावनाएँ पैदा होने लगी जो मुझे रोमांचित भी करने लगी थी। मुझे तब लगने लगा कि राज कपूर अद्भुत व्यक्तित्व थे। मैंने उनकी फिल्म ‘श्री 420’ को 20 बार देखा। एक और बहुत ही अलग फिल्म ‘जागते रहो’ जो मुझे एक बहुत ही अच्छी और प्रेरणादायक फिल्म लगी थी। कुछ बांग्ला फिल्म निर्माताओं की फिल्मों ने भी हमे काफी प्रभावित किया। मै सत्यजीत रे और ऋत्विक घटक द्वारा निर्मित फिल्मों को काफी पसंद करने लगी थी। रे मेरे हीरो बन गए थे, आज तक मुझे लगता है कि चारूलता एक ऐसी फिल्म है जिसने मुझे हमेशा प्रेरित किया है। जब मैं महिलाओं पर फिल्म बनाती हूं, तो मुझे इससे काफी प्रेरणा मिलती है। वर्तमान में, नए फिल्म निर्माता और निर्देशक के तौर पर अनुभव सिन्हा, अनुराग कश्यप, विक्रम मोटवानी और ऑस्कर नामांकित फिल्म निर्माता दीपा मेहता मेरे लिए प्रशंसनीय हैं। जो 50 के दशक के सत्यजीत रे, विटोरियो डी सिका, यासुजिरो ओजू के मानवीय सिनेमा से प्रेरणा लेते हैं। उन्हें लगता है कि इन निर्माताओं की मानवता, करुणा और जुनून से भरी फिल्में इस विभाजनकारी दुनिया में हमारे रक्षक हैं।

हमारे निजी जीवन के लिए घातक बन रहे सोशल मीडिया पर दीपा ने कहा, यह काफी शक्तिशाली और विनाशकारी उपकरण है। मुझे लगता है कि जिस प्रकार कारवां आगे बढ़ता रहता है, और कुत्ते भौंकते रहते हैं। ठीक इसी प्रकार यह अति खतरनाक है।

आपको क्या लगता है कि 2030 में फिल्म इंडस्ट्री कहां तक और किस उंचाई तक पहुंचेगी? क्या हम कभी सिनेमाघरों में वापस जाएंगे?

जवाब में दीपा ने कहा, स्ट्रीमिंग ने फिल्मों को देखने के तरीके को पूरी तरह से बदल दिया है। मुझे आशा है कि यह जल्द नया रूप लेगा, क्योंकि मेरे लिए सिनेमा देखने के लिए एक पवित्र जगह में जाने जैसा है, जहां आप किसी चीज से परेशान नहीं होते हैं। इन्हीं विशेषताओं के कारण इतने लंबे समय तक सिनेमा जगत जीवित है। इसी तरह से नाट्य शास्त्र भी है, जो वर्षों से जीवंत है। 2030 के दशक में भी सिनेमा और नाटक मौजूद रहेंगे, क्योंकि सिनेमा एवं नाटकों के बिना जीवन वास्तव में उबाऊ है। दीपा कहती है, वह महसूस करती हैं कि उनकी हर फिल्म उनके लिए उनकी किस्मत है।
