Mumbai, June 2026 — Contemporary artist Nidhi Sharma is showing her solo exhibition, Where Silence Becomes Form, at Jehangir Art Gallery, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai, from 9–15 June 2026.

The exhibition brings together a new body of paintings inspired by the Himalayan landscape, exploring themes of memory, stillness, transformation, and the subtle relationship between inner and outer worlds. Through layered surfaces, atmospheric colour fields, and intuitive mark-making, Sharma creates contemplative spaces that invite viewers into moments of quiet reflection.

While rooted in observations of forests, mountains, pathways, and forgotten temples, the paintings are not intended as descriptions of specific locations. Instead, they evoke states of presence and perception, offering an experience that lies between landscape and memory.

“These works emerged from a sustained engagement with silence—not as absence, but as a living presence. The paintings draw inspiration from the Himalayas, yet they are ultimately reflections on the inner landscapes we carry within us,” says Sharma.

The exhibition features works ranging from intimate studies to large-scale paintings, including a monumental diptych that serves as the focal point of the exhibition. Across the body of work, subtle shifts of colour, light, and texture suggest moments of emergence, transition, and stillness.

Nidhi Sharma has exhibited extensively in India and internationally. Her exhibition history includes solo presentations at Bombay Art Society, Mumbai Art Fair, Eminent Art Gallery, Gurugram, and Tokyo International Art Fair. She has also participated in World Art Dubai, India Art Festival, and numerous group exhibitions and art initiatives across India and abroad.

Says despite investing in Kang directed film ‘Chakk De Phatte’ he was excluded from ownership and revenues, Warns that prolonged non-compliance can attract serious legal consequences.

Chandigarh, June 11, 2026: The Punjabi film industry has been rocked by a ‘financial fraud’ orchestrated on an investor by none other than the renowned Punjabi film director Smeep Kang of ‘Carry on Jatta’ fame. The issue, which stems from the production of the 2007 Punjabi film ‘Chakk De Phatte’, has resulted in serious allegations of breach of trust, cheating and non-compliance against Kang. The charge against Kang is being led by a prominent business magnate of Chandigarh -Devinder Sandhu, who is a Senior Director of the famous WWICS Group.

“Nearly two decades after I entered into a financial arrangement in 2007 with Smeep Kang, an outstanding liability that originally related to an agreed payment of ₹1.70 crore has now ballooned to approximately ₹10 crore, due to continued non-payment by Kang,” said Sandhu while addressing a press conference here today.

The press conference assumes significance in light of the aggressive promotion of the upcoming Smeep Kang Directed Punjabi film- ‘Carry on Jatta 4’ – though Smeep has been regularly directing films and making earnings, he has failed to pay a single paisa to Sandhu. In-fact on the contrary he has cunningly presented a bleak picture of his financial situation to avoid payment of dues.

Sandhu alleged that despite obtaining an arbitration award in his favour, which was subsequently upheld by both the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court, he is yet to receive the amounts due to him. Sandhu stated that the prolonged delay in payment has caused the liability to rise substantially and that execution proceedings seeking enforcement of the award are currently underway.

Sandhu revealed that he was approached by Smeep Kang in March 2007 for financial support to produce the Punjabi feature film ‘Chakk De Phatte’. Under the arrangement, Sandhu invested ₹1.10 crore and was assured a return of ₹1.70 crore through scheduled payments. An agreement dated May 16, 2007 was executed to formalise the arrangement.

According to Sandhu, despite the agreed payment obligation of ₹1.70 crore, he did not receive any payment. Sandhu added that he was instead unscrupulously excluded from the film’s ownership and revenues.

Sandhu told the media that an arbitration award was delivered on July 25, 2019 in his favour. The award directed Kang to pay ₹1.70 crore towards the principal claim, interest at the rate of 15 per cent per annum with effect from April 1, 2009, ₹2 crore as compensation and ₹5 lakh towards arbitration costs. The award was subsequently upheld by both the Punjab & Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court. Despite these legal findings and the passage of nearly 20 years since the original transaction, Sandhu alleges that the dues remain unpaid, with the outstanding liability now estimated at around ₹10 crore.

Sandhu said that continued non-compliance with court-recognised financial obligations can carry serious legal consequences. He pointed to the case of Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, who faced imprisonment in connection with the non-fulfilment of financial obligations, to underscore that prolonged failure to honour legally enforceable liabilities can ultimately result in coercive legal action, including imprisonment. Sandhu maintained that either the outstanding liability of approximately ₹10 crore should be cleared or the legal process should be allowed to take its course.

Notably, an application seeking Kang’s civil imprisonment in execution proceedings has also been filed on the ground that despite suffering adverse orders up to the Supreme Court, the awarded amount remains unpaid.

“My only demand is that the lawful dues be paid. If they are not, the legal consequences prescribed under law should follow,” concluded Sandhu.

Diksha Sharma will soon be seen in the upcoming music video Dil Tod Ke Chal Diya, a project she describes as both challenging and memorable. Shot in Lonavala during the summer, the video follows a story filled with relationships, secrets, and unexpected twists, with Diksha playing a character who finds herself caught between two very different worlds.

Talking about the experience, Diksha says the shoot was one of the most intense she has been part of so far. “It was beautiful shooting in Lonavala during the summer. The locations and landscapes were amazing, and we managed to capture some really good frames. I also gave a few creative inputs during the shoot, which made the experience even more special for me.”

The music video also marks her first project with director Sadhu Kabra. Remembering the shoot, Diksha says the team often worked through long schedules. “We were shooting for almost 18 hours at a stretch, covering both outdoor and indoor locations. It was demanding, but the energy on set never dropped. Everyone was completely focused on the project.”

Speaking about Diksha, director Sadhu Kabra says she brought a strong sense of commitment to the role. “She is someone who trusts the process and gives her best to every scene. Once she understands the emotion, she performs it with complete sincerity. That made the entire collaboration very smooth.”

Diksha also thanked producer and co-actor Sanjiv Jain for trusting her with the character. “I’m grateful for the opportunity and for the faith the team showed in me. It was a great experience working with everyone involved.”

Mumbai: After months of uncertainty and multiple release postponements, filmmaker Amit Dixit’s much-awaited psychological mystery thriller is finally ready to reach audiences under its new title, Navya Chakra. The film, which was previously titled Navagunjara and later Navya Gunjara, faced significant challenges during the certification process after objections were raised over the concept which was related to the title of the film.

According to the makers, the film’s release was delayed repeatedly due to issues related to the film’s concept, which was directly involved with the title. The project was initially scheduled to release on May 15, 2026, and was later pushed to May 29, 2026. However, the film could not secure its censor certification as objections regarding the title continued to persist.

Sources associated with the production reveal that the makers approached the authorities multiple times seeking approval, but the proposed titles were reportedly not cleared. Following extensive discussions and compliance with the required guidelines, the team eventually received approval to release the film under the new title, Navya Chakra.

With the certification process now complete, the makers have officially announced June 26, 2026, as the film’s theatrical release date.

Directed and produced by Amit Dixit, Navya Chakra is written by Rohit S. Yadav, who has also handled the story, screenplay, and dialogues. The film is backed by First Film Studios LLP in association with Low Agers Production and Cine Arts. The project is produced by Amit Dixit, Ankita Goyal, and Ayush Jain, with Ajit Padwalkar serving as co-producer.

In her latest solo exhibition, Mahananda Sagare presents a body of work that emerges from silence, repetition, and prolonged acts of looking. Her paintings inhabit the fragile threshold where observation slowly transforms into inner experience. Rather than treating nature as subject matter, Sagare approaches it as a lived companionship; something sensed through rhythm, atmosphere, and  proximity.

The exhibition moves through recurring forms that appear almost elemental: birds in flight or pause, drifting leaves, dense clusters of organic movement, shadows suspended between stillness and motion. These are not descriptive images. They function more like states of mind; fleeting presences that carry memory, solitude, tenderness, and unease all at once. Her surfaces breathe through layered textures, muted intensities, and sudden bursts of colour that feel less painted than experienced.

There is an honesty in Mahananda’s visual language. The works resist theatricality and overstatement. Instead, they build a personal space where intuition becomes structure and sensitivity becomes method. One senses an artist listening carefully to the world before attempting to translate it. This gives the paintings their quiet force.

Her practice also reflects an important contemporary tension: how does one remain inward and attentive in a culture addicted to noise, and visibility? Mahananda Sagare’s works answer this not through protest, but through persistence. They slow perception down. They ask the viewer to stay with an image long enough for it to reveal its emotional temperature.

Gurugram and Thane-based organisations donate 2 water purifiers and 76 school bags to support homeless children

Thane, June 5, 2026 — Snehdhara Charity Council, Gurgugram and Finbros Capital Advisory Pvt Ltd demonstrated their shared commitment to community welfare by organising a donation drive for the Jeevan Samvardhan Foundation, an NGO working with homeless and underprivileged children across Thane and Titwala. Volunteers from both organisations coordinated and delivered 2 water purifiers and 76 school bags to the Foundation’s centre, ensuring the supplies reached those who need them most.

The initiative reflects a growing culture of grassroots giving within Thane’s business and community circles, with Snehdhara and Finbros mobilising their people — not just their resources — to make the effort a hands-on, meaningful one.

Momacu Receives Overwhelming Response At Star-Studded Premiere Screening In New Delhi

मुंबई, 31 मई 2026: वेस्टर्न इंडिया फिल्म एंड टीवी प्रोड्यूसर्स एसोसिएशन और लायंस क्लब ऑफ मिलेनियम के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में रविवार, 31 मई 2026 को माहेश्वरी हॉल, अंधेरी पश्चिम, मुंबई में 11वां निःशुल्क मेगा नेत्र परीक्षण, निःशुल्क चश्मे और निःशुल्क मोतियाबिंद शल्य चिकित्सा शिविर आयोजित किया गया।

पिछले 11 वर्षों से यह शिविर लगातार आयोजित किया जा रहा है। अब तक 200 से अधिक जरूरतमंद लोगों की मोतियाबिंद की सर्जरी निःशुल्क की जा चुकी है। फिल्म इंडस्ट्री के कलाकार-तकनीशियनों से लेकर आम नागरिकों तक, अनेक लोगों ने इस शिविर का लाभ उठाया। इस वर्ष भी लगभग 500 लोगों ने अपनी आँखों की जांच करवाई।

सीतामढ़ी, 01 जून 2026। “स्वस्थ शरीर, स्वस्थ समाज और स्वस्थ राष्ट्र” के संकल्प के साथ कार्यरत दिव्य प्राकृतिक एवं आयुर्वेदिक चिकित्सा मिशन द्वारा बिहार में पहली बार एक 7 जून को विशाल निःशुल्क आयुर्वेदिक एवं प्राकृतिक चिकित्सा स्वास्थ्य शिविर का आयोजन किया जा रहा है। इस ऐतिहासिक आयोजन की जानकारी साझा करने हेतु सोमवार को माँ जानकी जन्मस्थली, पुनौरा धाम स्थित फुलमत नगर में एक विशेष प्रेस वार्ता का आयोजन किया गया।

प्रेस वार्ता को संबोधित करते हुए मिशन के संरक्षक एवं समाजसेवी गजेंद्र झा ने कहा कि मिशन का उद्देश्य समाज के अंतिम व्यक्ति तक प्राकृतिक एवं आयुर्वेदिक चिकित्सा की सुविधाएँ पहुँचाना तथा लोगों को स्वस्थ जीवनशैली के प्रति जागरूक करना है। उन्होंने बताया कि देश के विभिन्न राज्यों में सफल स्वास्थ्य शिविरों के आयोजन के बाद अब बिहार में पहली बार इस प्रकार का भव्य शिविर आयोजित किया जा रहा है।

इस अवसर पर विश्वविख्यात आयुर्वेदाचार्य एवं प्राकृतिक चिकित्सा विशेषज्ञ तथा भारद्वाज ऋषि परंपरा के वंशज वैद्य श्री आशु भारद्वाज जी पधार रहे हैं। वैद्य ने कहा कि आधुनिक जीवनशैली से उत्पन्न अनेक रोगों का प्रभावी समाधान आयुर्वेद एवं प्राकृतिक चिकित्सा पद्धति में उपलब्ध है। उन्होंने बताया कि शिविर के दौरान रोगियों को निःशुल्क स्वास्थ्य परामर्श, रोग परीक्षण तथा आयुर्वेदिक एवं प्राकृतिक चिकित्सा संबंधी मार्गदर्शन प्रदान किया जाएगा। उन्होंने विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि इस आयोजन से हजारों लोगों को स्वास्थ्य लाभ प्राप्त होगा।

प्रेस वार्ता में बताया गया कि यह शिविर केवल चिकित्सा सेवा तक सीमित नहीं रहेगा, बल्कि प्राकृतिक एवं आयुर्वेदिक चिकित्सा के प्रति जन-जागरूकता बढ़ाने का एक व्यापक अभियान भी सिद्ध होगा। मिशन द्वारा समाज के सभी वर्गों से इस आयोजन में भाग लेकर लाभ उठाने की अपील की गई।

A Spiritual Journey of an artist 

Senior artist Jain Kamal’s retrospective at Jehangir Art Gallery, bringing together 101 works, positions itself within an onerous yet compelling proposition: the translation of the ‘Namokar Mantra’ from an ethical utterance into a visual system. In Jain philosophy, this mantra is not supplicatory but hierarchical and ontological. It acknowledges perfected states of being rather than invoking intervention. Its recitation is an act of alignment, a recalibration of the self toward equanimity, restraint, and self-knowledge. The exhibition’s premise rests on extending this inward calibration into the domain of the visible.

Jain Kamal’s practice consistently mobilises script as structure rather than inscription. Letters accumulate into vortices, grids, and concentric dispersals, where language begins to behave as matter: compressing, radiating, dissolving. Elsewhere, manuscript-like grounds and typographic densities evoke the labour of chant-like repetition central to Jain meditative practices, where meaning is not delivered instantly but sedimented through sustained attention.

The reference to Jain cosmology, particularly the notion of cyclical existence and gradations of consciousness, is deployed not as illustrative narrative but as structural principle. The works often stage a movement from dispersion to centre, from multiplicity toward a tentative stillness. This compositional logic mirrors the ethical trajectory embedded in Jain thought: the gradual attenuation of karmic accretions through discipline and awareness.

Crucially, the exhibition’s invocation of global peace emerges as a derivative condition. Within Jain epistemology, peace is neither negotiated nor imposed; it is the by-product of an interior equilibrium achieved through self-regulation. Jain Kamal’s visual strategy: repetition, containment, and centripetal focus, attempts to materialise this proposition: that the ordering of perception precedes the ordering of the world.

The retrospective also folds into itself several parallel strands from the artist’s long professional trajectory. A section titled ‘Namokar Mantra for World Peace’ extends the exhibition’s meditative axis into a broader public-facing rhetoric of ethical coexistence. Another body of work, ‘Ek Fakir Se Doosra Fakir’, presents glimpses from a series of approximately 250 paintings centred on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, positioning political portraiture and public image-making within the artist’s wider engagement with symbolic identity and circulation. Alongside these works, archival material from nearly fifty-five years of design practice for around sixty national newspapers and periodicals is also displayed, foregrounding Jain Kamal’s sustained involvement with print culture, graphic layout, and visual communication across editorial platforms. An Original design portfolio featuring 55 years of work for 60 national newspapers and periodicals will also be on display.

This retrospective, therefore, is best understood not as a devotional display, but as an extended inquiry into whether a rigorously inward philosophy can sustain a contemporary visual language without losing its ethical density and, moreover, how it might extrapolate into a globally aligned peace-making process.

Neena Bidikar’s solo exhibition, ‘A Floral Reverie,’ unfolds as an intimate encounter with the emotional and sensory life of flowers.

Moving beyond the conventions of decorative floral painting, Neena transforms petals, folds, textures, and colour into immersive fields of feeling, where softness and intensity coexist in delicate balance. Her large-scale canvases magnify fleeting botanical events into spaces of contemplation, drawing viewers into a world where nature appears both fragile and powerfully alive.

Working in a contemporary realist idiom, Neena approaches the flower not as a static object of beauty, but as a living form in transition – blooming, unfurling, fading, and renewing itself in cycles that quietly mirror human emotion. Rich blues, luminous whites, velvety rouges, and layered violets move across the canvas with an almost tactile presence. Light slips across petals like memory itself, revealing subtle tensions between stillness and movement, intimacy and grandeur.

Her long engagement with textile design and visual aesthetics is evident in the fluid orchestration of colour, rhythm, and surface. Yet the works resist excess. Instead, they cultivate attentiveness. Each painting invites the viewer to slow down and inhabit a moment that contemporary life often rushes past, the silent unfolding of beauty in its most transient state.

There is a meditative quality to Neena’s practice. The flowers seem less arranged than encountered, as though emerging from a deeply personal dialogue with nature, time, and perception. Through these works, the artist creates not simply images of blooms, but emotional environments where quiet observation becomes transformative.

‘A Floral Reverie’ offers a rare visual pause, a space where colour breathes, form softens, and the ephemeral presence of nature is allowed to linger just a little longer.

In an age increasingly drawn toward irony, spectacle, and fragmentation, Sumitra Ahlawat’s paintings return to the enduring language of beauty, devotion, ornamentation, and emotional sincerity. Her works celebrate the richness of Indian cultural memory through luminous portrayals of divine figures, women adorned in traditional attire, musicians, dancers, and moments of quiet spiritual reflection.

Shaped through her art education in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, Sumitra’s visual language carries subtle echoes of regional aesthetics, traditional attire, devotional atmospheres, and the warmth of lived Indian cultural experience. She completed a five year Diploma in Fine Arts, building a rigorous academic foundation that later expanded into diverse professional engagements across painting, illustration, broadcasting, and graphic design.

Working across oil, acrylic, charcoal, watercolour, and mixed media, Sumitra creates compositions deeply rooted in feminine figurative traditions while retaining a contemporary softness and immediacy. Her paintings are marked by flowing drapery, elaborate jewellery, expressive gestures, and richly textured surfaces that evoke the visual atmosphere of women at temple rituals, folk celebrations, varied painting traditions, and classical Indian aesthetics.

Alongside her independent artistic practice, Sumitra has also worked professionally across several important institutional spaces. She created oil paintings for the Rajputana Rifles Regiment Centre, Delhi, worked as a graphic artist with Doordarshan, Delhi TV, and UDK, contributed book illustrations for NCERT, and worked on illustration projects for Nandan magazine of HT. These experiences expanded her engagement with both fine art and public visual culture, allowing her practice to move fluidly between institutional, literary, devotional, and popular visual language.

Her devotional works depicting Krishna, Rama, Vitthala, Ganesha, and Radha are imbued with warmth rather than grandeur.
