Star Crew Productions, one of the fastest growing films and music production houses of North India, was incepted in year 2020 by a Canada-returned businessman, Swaran Singh Sandhu – a man steadfastly moving towards the betterment of the Region’s talented youth.

It was Swaran Sandhu’s desire to do something constructive for the youth of North India that prompted him to start his own production house. Having been into the field of immigration consultancy for over a decade, he had seen how our youth is resorting to all kinds of illegal means to earn a basic living either abroad or here. The fact that some of these youngsters are so talented that pained him to see how they’re falling into drugs and traps laid by fraud agents.

“For those talented in arts, music and acting have to go to Mumbai for arduous struggle – which often leads the innocent youth to make disastrous choices and land into dangerous exploitation rackets. In fact, despite our solid Punjabi music and film industry, there’s still a dearth of opportunities for the talented youth here, ” opines Swaran Sandhu.

“So, to contribute in the artistic development of our the people of our region, and save our youth from getting exploited in big cities, I decided to start my own production house : Star Crew, which currently runs three music channels – Punjabi, Haryanvi (Star Crew Dhakadz) and devotional songs (Star Crew Kirtan),” he adds.

Swaran Sandhu’s passion and belief in his principles is so strong that even a pandemic could not stop him from working towards his mission – the mission of providing a safe, clean and conducive environment for the young talent of North India to blossom.

Sharing his thoughts on his decision to launch Star Crew Productions during the year when the Covid19 pandemic shook the entire entertainment industry, he says,”To make an entry into the entertainment industry during the pandemic was certainly a challenging step initially. However, I am glad that we exceeded our expectations and also, learnt from the various challenges that came across our way. This was the best time for me personally, to try out something new in life and the lean phase gave me enough ‘me-time’ to research and nurture my creative side. I got enough time to understand the industry and offer the kind of entertainment that people actually wanted to consume. I am glad, so far we have got excellent response from the audience.”

Through different channels of Star Crew, Swaran Sandhu has provided a platform to a plethora of talented musicians, singers, actors and models to display their talent in front of the whole world through the right means.

From the trendy Punjabi videos to the mesmerizing Haryanvi folk to the soulful devotional music, in just a matter of one year, Star Crew Productions has churned out scintillating videos one after another through its three different YouTube Channels.

Q:-Firstly Congratulations ,So  Please tell us something about yourself ?

Well I am basically from Haridwar Uttarakhand after marriage in my early 20, started my career as a banker in Mumbai , while most people think life ends after being mother, it was the other way around for me as

I resigned from my job to take care of my two buddle of joy,I kept on upgraded my hobby skills into profesionale skills.

this opportunity has come to me as a boon because of the extended support of my family and kids . I am a  graduate and also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer.

Q:-How did Mrs India happen ?

Ans:-The credit goes to Mother. She has always pushed me to reach my maximum potential,my 11 year daughter insisted me that, I should participate in a Pageant like this and were sure, if I do, I will definitely win, so the entire credit goes to them for always encouraging, supporting and helping me achieve all my dreams. As a child I’ve always fancied beauty pageants but never really thought that I would be a part of it some day and now after winning this title and representing India I feel great.

Q:-How do you feel after winning ?

Ans :-I’m overwhelmed and so glad I participated. There was a very tough competition as the contestants were from various fields, from across the globe, so talented, so beautiful and so well prepared. Each one of them was an achiever in their own right and had made it to the finalist. So reaching here, when you have such tough competition, is a very special feeling altogether. have been of Supreme help to me, without them I don’t think this would have been possible. Because doing anything like this is not easy, I’m so grateful I had all of them in my life.

Q:-Did you come across any hurdles through your journey ?

Ans :-Hurdles! No I don’t think so I look at it that way, I am a 21st century woman and I believe in finding solutions.Every challenge is the opportunity to bring best out of you, If Plan A doesn’t work you have to move to Plan B.  I don’t give up, I can multi-task and if I set my heart on to something I really make sure I get it. My mantra for success is ,’stay focussed, determined and disciplined and you shall have whatever you want in life.’

Q:-How did you prepare for it ?

Ans :-A lot of hard work, dedication and commitment is needed. I had to keep myself updated, practice ,balance preparations with family, had sleepless nights and had to give on all the comforts to prepare myself. It’s not at all easy. Having said that, I would also like to add that anything is possible if you have the right people with you, like your family who helped me spot my potential and made me believe that I could do it and come out in flying colours.

Q:-Whats your take on women empowerment  ?

Ans :-I am a woman and I don’t think there is anything in this world that I can’t do. I think we already possess dynamic abilities in ourselves and we don’t need any kind of empowerment. I read it somewhere,”if you want to see how powerful a woman is, just try to take her child away and see how she reacts.”

The least one can do is not create unnecessary hurdles and see what she can achieve.

And to my fellow sisters, to all the home makers, everyone who’s trying, I want to tell you , you matter, you’re important and you are doing great. If there is anything you want to achieve in life, you can, and you should ,do not neglect your dreams and desires. If you want it, go get it. Just the way I did.

Q Can you enlighten us with your future career plans?

Ans : Well I am a trained Bharatanatyam trainer and also a certified Yoga coach ,Apart from Bharatanatyam & Freelance Fine Artist,who sells her Artwork through online(Amazon India) & offline platforms would like to share my knowledge with next generation , which will help to take themselves to the next level by being mentally strong and by battling their fears.

You are the only person that will never leave your side; motivate yourself to put your best foot forward every day. You need to tell yourself that no matter what comes your way, you are going to fight it out and reach your ultimate peak of triumph.”

Ultimately, scheduling and being determined to succeed are the two ingredients needed to achieve success and become an icon. Gargi Duggal has meticulously executed her skills and has received numerous awards. Sushmita Sen, Miss Universe 1994, presented her with the “Woman of Substance” award in March 2019. Born in the small town of Nadiad, Gujarat, Gargi Duggal has always had a passion for dance, even from the young age of two. Her mother inspired her to start dancing and little Gargi passed her first dance exam at the age of five. Following her passion, she, in her later stages of life obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in the very famous classical Indian dance form, Bharatnatyam.

Apart from being a trained dancer, the virtuoso has also received a congratulatory letter from Guinness World of Records for climbing the 12,400 feet Parvati Valley of the Himalaya Ranges at the tender age of five. Her father motivated her to make the grueling trek. But as they say, life is unexpected, and one should be ready to combat all the battles that come along the way. Amidst Gargi’s rise, there was an unfortunate tragedy. At the age of 14 years, she experienced the first of several lifelong battles with medical issues as she experienced a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right leg. Sadly, she faced a lot of issues in the diagnosis of her injury due to insufficient medical facilities in her small town. Regardless, Gargi carried out her lifelong mantra and rebounded from injury via persistence. In Fact, she won the Miss Gujarat-Miss Talent title in 1997.

Luck favors the brave and so was the case of Gargi Duggal as her determination brought her many big opportunities. She got to perform at the 2002 Commonwealth Games held in Manchester. She also had the privilege to be mentored by renowned Bollywood Art Director Sharmistha Roy and Gargi assisted her in many films like Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Mohabbatein, Fiza, and Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega.

Gargi moved to the US in pursuit of a better life twenty years ago. Despite being a wife, a mother of two, and an IT Professional, she kept mastering her dancing skills. One does not have any option than rather to accept what life throws at them. The unfortunate tragedy struck again. On her vacation, she dislocated her right leg once again. Fortunately, this time she finally had all the medical tools at her disposal to diagnose the issue altogether. She fought back against all the odds and started fullfledged dancing with the Arya Dance Troupe. Her hard work, grit, and determination earned her the Best Dancer at Dance USA Dance Dallas regional competition in April 2018, and in November, she was awarded with the Texas Indian Icon trophy and made it to the top finalists with an all-age open dance category for Gee Vision and Zee TV’s International Indian Icon Season-II.

The virtuoso’s list of achievements and recognition is very long, and making it even longer, she added one more award to her list. In March 2019, she received the “Woman of Substance award from Miss Universe 1994, Sushmita Sen. Believing in taking up new tasks and enjoying different roles, she became a radio jockey with Radio Salaam Namaste and a media professional with Toppick Media.
